Nowadays, everyone is more or less aware of the minimum plumbing ideas required to manage our regular lives. For instance: fixing minor leaks from the taps. But there are situations when a professional plumber’s intervention is required whereas we waste our time in thinking whether there is a real requirement of a professional plumber or can we solve the problem by ourselves? What’s the harm in experimenting! But often it is forgotten that the condition may be critical & fixing it yourself might make the situation worst.

In this blog, we shall discuss the situations when you should immediately call for a professional plumber instead of doing the job yourself.

1. If your drain is clogged- Many homeowners in Mandurah think that if they have blocked drains, it is their job to fix it! But that should not be the solution. Many times, you don’t know what may have gone wrong in your drain; you might not be aware of the right way to remove the clog and end up in doing more harm than saving your drain. In case you have a single clogged drain or your toilet is suffering from minor blockage, you can obviously take an attempt in plunging the clog loose. But if you are still unable to get rid of the clog, its time that you call for an expert plumber who can treat blocked drains in Mandurah.

2. If your hot water turns cold frequently- This is especially problematic during winters when you use your water heater for warm water but all you get is water that is freezing cold. If this occurs frequently, check the thermostat on the tank. Sometimes the amount of water that had been heated might get over after everyone in the house had used it. You will need to again warm up the water for your use. If this is not the case, call for a licensed hot water plumber in Mandurah to avoid any further consequences.

3. If you have a leaky faucet and tap- Leaky faucet in the shower or tap is really a trouble. Unless you fix it, you might end up wasting litres of water as well as incur a great expenditure. If you have a running toilet, the solution for it is quite simple. All you have to do is make sure that the flapper in the tank is in its proper place. On the other hand, your leaky faucet might require just a new gasket that can be easily done by you. But to be on the safe side, it is better to hire a professional plumber for an effective cure.

4. If there is a burst pipe- Pipes usually burst during extreme winters when the water freezes and expands at a rapid rate in the pipe, causing it to burst. With a burst pipe, you can undergo not only water damage but also huge expenditure. Besides, the damage location is also difficult to locate by yourself. At such a time, calling for an emergency plumber in Mandurah is the only feasible option that you must resort to.

Conclusion- Thus, if you face these situations at any point of time, do not take risks and perform a DIY but call for your trusted plumber to avoid any further damage.

I thought it was great how the article talked about how you should hire a plumber if you have a leaky faucet or tap that is causing you a lot of trouble. My sister had a pipe burst in her bathroom which caused a bunch of water to flood into her basement, so she has been looking for a plumber to come and fix it for her. It seems like it would be good for her to find a plumber that is licensed, so they can efficiently fix her problem.

I love how you mentioned that people don't usually know hats blocking their drain and in an attempt to unclog it they might cause more damage. The best option to avoid this possible mishap is calling a professional plumber who can fix the blocked drain without causing further damage or repairs. Thank you for giving reasons on when to call a plumber.

Thanks for helping me understand which scenarios should I call a plumber for. What you said about how a leaky faucet and tap can be easily fixed by some workarounds but I believe professional help is better to prevent this from happening again. After moving to our current area, I've been looking for any possible issues I might encounter and plumbing issues are one of them.

I find it interesting to learn that a drain could get clogged upon usage. My friend recently moved around our area since its close to our university and he's been telling me that his toilet has been stressing him out since its clogged. I should suggest that he hire a plumber so this gets sorted out immediately.
